Syncretism 06:06
High in the sky and I’m shining down on you High in the sky and I’m falling down on you High in the sky and I’m whispering your name High in the sky and you'll never be the same Here on the ground and you’re trying not to fall Here on the ground and you start to hear my call Here on the ground and you feel their disdain Here on the ground playing in the falling rain And I want to fly keep my feet up off the ground And I want to fly, and I’ll fly Deep down below and you're swimming in my tears Deep down below and you're bathing in my fears Deep down below and you fight for every breath Deep down below and I'll save you from yourself And I want to dive, sink into the depths below And I want to dive, and I’ll dive And you feel like you're alone Even though you have grown All the seeds that you have sewn In the darkness of your mind Is the darkness of my mind You can feel yourself unwind And I want to fly, get my feet up off the ground And I want to fly, and I'll fly And I want to dive, sink into the depths below And I want to dive, and I'll dive

Who are you? Who are you? Why are you? Everywhere you look people all seem to be the same. Cookie cutter homes pop up so quickly it's insane. Working jobs you hate to buy more of the same old thing TVs, cars, and cell phones, an expensive diamond ring. Drone, drone, drone so alone. Drone, drone, drone so alone. Have to buy more of the things commercials tell you to. Do what all the politicians say Jesus would do. You're so uncreative give me something that is new. Bleating sheep surround me, I have never been more through. Drone, drone, drone so alone. Drone, drone, drone so alone.

Crushing 04:33
It’s a mystery it seems– all these pictures in my dreams Of a world I know. Where I long to go. Where my feels show what you mean to me… I love you. But reality it seems is not quite good to me. So I hold my tongue till I come undone, till I start to run- away from you. Oh what to do? I’ll just stare at you. Nothing more to do. Haven’t got a clue about these things.

Extasy 04:40
There's something about the way the music moves at a time in life when I don't have a clue. The beat and the rhythm they tell me what to do so I don't have to think hard I just want to push on through. I can't think about the day that is gone, and I know the day to come is going to be tough and long. I know I can't escape all the things I've got to do, I want to crawl into my bed and hide away with you. Up comes the sun, and right back down again. The only way to get through is to find a place of zen. In spite of the feeling you can't take anymore I want to see you on your feet moving on the dance floor.

This Is Hip 05:08
As we spin alone drift through outer space do we leave a trace? Makes me wonder if we're really all alone on our Earthly throne. I want to be where the moment takes me. I want to see planets glowing softly. I want to feel what it's like to float, and I want to be where the moment takes me. If we're all alone, why are we so cruel? Greed and power rule. I do not command armies on the shore gearing up for war. I want to be where the moment takes me. I want to see planets glowing softly. I want to feel what it's like to float, and I want to be where the moment takes me.

Slip into a comma and watch the light swirl round as the smoke descends and knocks you to the ground Cacophony of sound eats at the brain and leaves and deep, deep mark like an audio stain. As you awake you're not quite sure where you are. Are you here on Earth, or up among the stars? In a fit of movement you find your grip, and fall into an interplanetary movement. Try to find your way but get lost up in the stars, and find yourself approaching the big red planet the Romans called Mars. Turn around but left is right, up is down, then you burn and find your only choose is cruising round the rings of planet Saturn. Don't get caught up as it crumbles and tumbles into a mess. You've gone to far, it seems, to find your way back to the goddess Venus. Keep up the search to find the song that sings the sun to high noon. It's the only way you'll know you've reached the mighty planet Neptune.

about

Having spent years as a staple and favorite in the L.A. indie music scene in the late 2000s, Azure Down is back after a ten year hiatus and their music is more relevant than ever!

In their long awaited debut album, We Searched for Neptune, undigested nuggets of ouija board vocals, free-form sonic exploration, proto-psychedelia, and post-punk etherealism come together to form a soupy psychedelic dream pop for the for The New Depression Generation.

The Search for Neptune

This is what Target Audience Magazine had to say about the band in 2009:

"Azure Down is an enchanting group from California. Sounding like a new Pink Floyd, this band puts music together as well as you could ask. With slow, resounding guitar parts that seem to speak to you, and the vocals telling their own story, you can easily get lost in each of their songs...Making a name for themselves in the California area...This band is a true joy for those who enjoy lengthy, complex songs. Azure Down is definitely a band to listen to on the couch with candles around, and with headphones on your head so you don't miss one thing. Sit back and take in their songs and I am sure that you will be left wanting more."
